Waddy Wachtel Band Update - 10/13/09

Note from Nina:

Yes.......... I know it’s been a long time since the Waddy Wachtel Band has been at The Joint on a Monday night to rock us. But it’s looking like we’ll get a gig real soon. With this cold weather hitting us in Los Angeles, we definitely need to get that good rock ‘n’ roll heat from WWB. No, WWB will NOT be playing at The Joint this Monday 10/19, but I’ll let you know as soon as the next date is confirmed.

Waddy Wachtel is stll working on the music score for his next film - composing, recording, performing and mixing. He was planning on having it wrapped up by now, but the producers loved what he did so much...... they asked him to write more music for the film. The working title of the movie is “Born To Be A Star” - written and produced by the team of Adam Sandler and Allen Covert. Waddy has composed the score for many of their previous films. For more info on it:
"Born To Be A Star"

Bernard Fowler will be performing some gigs this month around the U.S. with Phil Jones on drums, Al Ortiz on bass, and other musicians to be announced. Waddy will not be able to make those gigs. For more info on Bernard’s gigs, check regularly at his web site:
Bernard Fowler

If any of you made it to the Bob Dylan concert tonight at the Hollywood Palladium, you might have recognized a familiar face or two. Al Ortiz played bass with Johnny Rivers who was the opening act for Dylan.

I’m sorry I haven’t written to you sooner, but I’ve been taking a little siesta until I could let you know Waddy Wachtel, Phil Jones, Rick Rosas, Bernard Fowler, Blondie Chaplin, Jamie Savko and our regular guest Keith Allison would be returning. Soon!!!!!!!!!

Miss all you rockers........ Everyone in WWB misses you and sends you their rockin’ love.

P.S. I found some cool videos of Waddy playing at the 2002 Benefit Concert for Timothy White - “Music To My Ears.” You can watch them on this page at Waddy’s web site:

Waddy Wachtel Band Update - 10/22/09

Note from Nina:

Unfortunately, The Waddy Wachtel Band will not be able to rock with all of us at The Joint on either Monday 10/26 or 11/2.
Waddy and the guys are trying really hard to make it for 11/9. I’ll let you know as soon as I get confirmation from them. We’ll all be keeping our fingers and toes crossed.

In the meantime, here are some other gigs the individual members will be doing on their own for the rest of the month:

Waddy Wachtel will be performing with Adam Sandler at the Bridge School Benefit at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. Headlining the gig is Neil Young, who started the Bridge School in 1985 to provide education for children with severe disabilities. Rick Rosas will be playing bass with Neil.
