 Reviews and News - April 2011 Note from Nina: I hope you all are Rockin’ ‘n’ Rollin’ and enjoying the weather change.... Spring is in the air! Here’s an update on what Waddy Wachtel and the guys in the Waddy Wachtel Band are up to......... WADDY WACHTEL BAND........ I know those of you who look forward to getting electrified by WWB are missing our gigs as much as I am. But Waddy and the guys are out there making music for others around the world right now, so we’ll forgive them for not being able to get us burnin’ for a while longer. They miss all of you too!!!!! I’ll let you know as soon as we have the next confirmed gig. WADDY WACHTEL........ Waddy is on tour with Stevie Nicks - The Heart & Soul Tour on the bill with Rod Stewart. Waddy’s on stage right now in Montreal - Those lucky Canadians! I can’t write you a review of a concert, as I haven’t been to one, but I was lucky enough to see one of the rehearsals in L.A. before the tour - and it was fantastic! Waddy - perfection! Wailing guitar and those wonderful smiles. Stevie and the whole band were right on the mark! RICK ROSAS......... Rick will be playing bass with the Buffalo Springfield on their reunion tour starting in June. The band members are: Neil Young, Stephen Stills, and Richie Furay, along with Rick Rosas—filling in for the late Bruce Palmer—and Crosby, Stills & Nash drummer Joe Vitale sitting in for the late Dewey Martin. Who else could they choose to fill in on bass? No one but the incredible Rick (the bass player) Rosas! Here are the confirmed dates so far: June 1 & June 2 Fox Theater, Oakland, CA June 4 & June 5 Wiltern Theater, Los Angeles, CA June 7 & June 8 Santa Barbara Bowl, Santa Barbara, CA June 11 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Manchester, TN RICK ROSAS and PHIL JONES........ Rick and Phil will be playing with Pegi Young and the Survivors at these gigs in May: May 6 Napa Valley Opera House, Napa, CA May 7 Don Q's, Felton, CA May 10 Hotel Café, Los Angeles, CA May 11 Soho, Santa Barbara, CA May 13 Center For The Arts, Grass Valley, CA May 14 Hipnic III, Big Sur, CA The Survivors band members are: Spooner Oldham (keyboards), Kelvin Holly (electric guitar), Rick Rosas (bass) and Phil Jones (drums). PHIL JONES......... Phil will be joining a local band he’s played with for a few years for these gigs: April 1 & 8 The Press, Claremont, CA The band is called The Dogs and the band members are: Dave Catron (bass), Frank Hanson (guitars), Phil Jones (percussion),Matt Snyder (keyboards), Steve Sturgis (drums). BERNARD FOWLER......... Bernard will be thrilling the audiences in Europe at these gigs with his band Tackhead: April 7 - The Agora Stage, Messe, Frankfurt, Germany April 9 - The Den, Holborn, London, UK April 15 - Rome, Italy April 16 - Bologna, Italy ------------ I’ll keep you updated as I find news to share, but check the Waddy Wachtel web site and FaceBook page for more interesting stuff.
